Although the Payson Utah Temple was dedicated recently, the rich heritage of the history of the saints in this area speak volumes. This summer I was privileged to see hundreds of youth of the Payson Utah Stake participating in the preparation of a trek that was going to be happening later this summer. As I arrived to the temple they were finishing up a five mile practice walk. As they walked they with such happiness and joyfulness to pass the time. I think about the saints crossing the plains and the joy and games they played to pass the time. I was reminded of the joy and sadness, the ups and downs many of our ancestors experienced as they sacrificed to give us the chance this year to welcome the Payson Utah temple into the ranks of the temples to dot the earth.
